From Dependency to Harmony – Heal Naturally with Ayurveda & Yoga
Here at Shatavari Ayurveda, we understand that addiction is much more than mere physical dependence - it goes much deeper into the balance of body, mind and consciousness. Our deaddiction program is an integrated approach that harnesses the traditional knowledge of Ayurveda, Yoga and corrective lifestyle to help nourish one’s body and attain internal clarity and peace.
Ayurvedic Approach to Deaddiction
When a person is impaired in his doshas, the balance of his mind destroyed and his body has developed a dependence on external stimuli as an antidote then do we have addiction. Our therapies aim to:
- Purging toxins and materials that accumulated in the body.
- Balance the doshas Vata, Pitta & Kapha and bring them into harmony.
- Rejuvenating to the nervous system while increasing digestive fire (Agni).
- Clear the mind and calm emotions.
- Promote recovery in the long term with lifestyle and dietary adjustments.
Personalized Doshic Diet for Recovery
Food can play a part in healing from addiction. At Shatavari Ayurveda, the diet is personalised to suit one’s particular dosha anomalies:
- For Vata imbalance: Warm, nourishing and grounding food such as cooked grains, milk, ghee (clarified butter), soups and sweet fruits help to calm restlessness and anxiety.
- For Pitta imbalance: Cool, sweet foods such as cucumbers, melons, green vegetables, coconut water and mild spices to cool down irritability and anger.
- For Kapha/earth anger: Light, stimulating foods like barley, millet pulses, leafy greens, ginger and spices to counter lethargy and dependence.
Conscious eating, timing of meals and not mixing incompatible food are priorities to reestablish equilibrium.
